Welcome to the GAIA Library

This is a private library of documents
and information of interest to GAIA Members

Starting in 2000, GAIA has grown to a global network with more than 800 member organizations in 90+ countries working on environmental health and justice around waste management issues. This library aims to provide a useful information platform where our members worldwide can collaborate to share and more easily find important information on the relevant subjects. Many of the contents are password-protected and open to GAIA members only. The topics include incineration/waste-to-energy, zero waste, waste pickers, emissions and toxic substances data etc.

Find Information

Start your search from here with just one or more keywords. The filters on the left side allows you to refine your search by Region (Europe, Asia, etc…), Author type (NGOs, governments, industries, academia etc…), Document type (factsheets, reports, presentations etc…) and Language. Please note that you need to login to see many of the contents.

A list of selected materials for major topics is also provided here. The best resources will help your understanding of the basic issues.

Check out the rankings of “most recommended resources” and “most accessed resources” on the right side too, and find out the most popular articles on this site.

Share your resources

If possible, add more contents or edit existing ones from here. This library is a collective platform of GAIA members and thus relies upon your resources. Please read this guide, and let’s make this library more useful for everyone.

Simply commenting on each content page is also a great way to share your knowledge and help understanding of other members. What’s even easier is just recommending some contents with “Do you recommend this material to others?” on each content page. If you find a nice material, don’t forget to make a vote to disseminate it!
